| Semi-Dedicated Hosting is similar to dedicated hosting, except the server is shared by a very limited number of web sites. By limiting the number of websites per server based on the traffic and resource usage of each individual site being hosted, each site can accommodate greater amounts of traffic and run more intensive scripts without CPU latency becoming an issue. Second, each user on a semi-dedicated server has the same tech support as they would on a dedicated server.
Semi-Dedicated Hosting does not use a virtual hosting control panel as they limit the technical support staff in what they can and cannot do on each server. By not using a virtual hosting control panel semi-dedicated users are free to make any request directly to the technical support staff, exactly as they would with a dedicated server.
